The Rosary is a revered Catholic prayer devotion that facilitates a deeper connection to Jesus and Mary through contemplation of significant events in their lives.
According to Catholic tradition, the Rosary was bestowed upon St. Dominic by Mary during an apparition in 1214. Its universal use among faithful Catholics was endorsed by Pope Leo X in 1520.
In October 2018, Pope Francis urged believers worldwide to seek the protection of the Holy Mother of God amidst the Church's adversities. The faithful were implored to remain vigilant against the accusations and evils of the devil. In response, the pope suggested integrating the prayers Sub tuum praesidium and Saint Michael the Archangel into the closing of the Rosary.
